~ Scott Foxx ~ 

Instructor, Songwriter, Composer, Performer.

 

   Scott Foxx began his career as a solo musician and songwriter in Chicago at the age of 17.  Playing professionally since then in 49 states, he has opened for Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, Jonathan Edwards, Country Joe McDonald, Shenandoah, Pam Tillis, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kentucky Headhunters and Andrew Tosh.  His abilities spread across a variety of musical genres. 

   At age 19, Scott ventured to New Hampshire, playing gigs along the east coast down to Florida and back.  He moved to Los Angeles in the late 70's where he worked until moving up to Bend,, Oregon in 1992, after a brief stint in Mississippi. 

   Since moving to Central Oregon, Scott has been a member of several bands and now plays with The River Pigs and Burnin' Moonlight.  The River Pigs play an eclectic blend of Americana music.  They have one CD called “When Pigs Fly” which was very well received. Burnin' Moonlight is an acoustic trio, mixing bluegrass, fiddle tunes, blues and swing.  They have two CDs, the first called “Good Wood”, and the latest is “Mountain Doctors”.    Scott Foxx is a Breedlove endorsed artist. On his Breedove Acoustic/Electric guitar, Scott plays fingerstyle, bluegrass, rock n' roll and slide.  He also plays fiddle, banjo, electric guitar, dobro, keyboards, bass and mandolin, and teaches all of these instruments at his private studio and also at The Cascade School of Music. He is also involved in teaching workshops at music camps and festivals recently teaching an advanced flatpicking workshop at the National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest in Weiser, Idaho two years in a row. In 2018 Scott will be teaching at acoustic music multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven's Rivertunes Music Camp near Sonora, CA.
